Breakfast/Recess Snack - Nutritious and regular meals are crucial to student learning, growth and development. Parents are expected to see that students have had a healthy breakfast each day before coming to school and to provide a healthy snack for children to eat at mid-morning recess. Parents are asked to avoid "junk food" type snacks and meals in order to support children's best learning opportunity.

Lunches - Parents are encouraged to provide nutritious, balanced lunches. "Fast food" meals are discouraged. Soft drinks are not allowed except for special, school sponsored events. Hot lunches are available through the school.

Hot Lunches - are provided through the Newark School District Food Program (NUSD). A menu is sent in the brown envelope monthly. Parents are asked to send a check for the appropriate amount (multiples of 5 lunches) to the office at least one day before your child will order their first Hot Lunch. Hot lunches are NOT sold individually. Price is determined by NUSD. Students are issued a lunch card for the number of lunches which are pre-paid(5, 10, 15, etc.) and kept in the classroom. Each day the teachers ask the students if they want to order hot lunch, and if so, their card is marked with that date. Orders are placed at 9:00 each morning with the NUSD. This lunch includes milk. We do not have a "credit" policy for buying lunch.

Milk - Students may purchase milk daily, or milk tickets may be purchased (20 milks). Price will be announced, and varies as cost to school varies.
